Condemnation

How often have we, as Americans, as Mormons, as Whites, as Men, etc, condemned someone’s actions as wrong? How often have we focused on a temporal characteristic and faulted someone for it? Regardless of whether it was caused by them or not? How often have we, as MoHo’s felt condemned by the Church, by Americans, by the Westboro Baptist Church? Are we not commanded to follow in the footsteps of Christ? Why did Christ come to earth? John 3:17 states: “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” How often have we been persecuted or persecuted others? Shouldn’t we instead focus on preaching the message of Christ? How can we learn to put down our prejudices and instead build up our brothers and sisters?
