In the temple ladies participate in rituals and are endowed with the priesthood the same as men are. (Did I go beyond a boundary? I'm not sure. My intention is not to offend-I'm not exposing anything specfic I don't think). It's strange how the structure of the church as the world sees it and how members experience it does not reflect some of the equality that is experienced in the temple in terms of receiving and acting on rituals regardless of gender. The potential for women as being exalted exists as it does for men in the temple instructions therfore exalted same-sex partners that you are exploring can be realized for women. Your post is interesting b/c I am on a quest to recognize equality for both men and women in this church and it's thought provoking as I reflect on the temple ordinances in this context.SimplyMehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13610843422128505804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792904819726809319.post-80347533289063573052009-05-26T08:55:33.060-07:002009-05-26T08:55:33.060-07:00David, these are excellent thoughts. I got the sense when reading this though that you're reverting back to the "Old Testament" God where He is portrayed as being a scorekeeper concered only with sin and ready to condemn based on the letter of the law rather than the intent of your heart. I think that your search is centered around the nature of God. Perhaps in seeking to know Him you can find peace.Alyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10909129074296324426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792904819726809319.post-54711296352061425922009-05-25T20:43:12.020-07:002009-05-25T20:43:12.020-07:00Interesting thoughts David. I was there for the Plan of Salvation lesson in my little town and was pleased to hear some of the teacher's open-mindedness on the topic. You have redefined the Celestial Kingdom and Exaltation for me, I assume in your quest to find your place within this church. It gives me peace to know that there truly is a place for everyone in this church and therefore no room for negative judgment on the part of anyone. It really opens up part of a perspective that I've been searching for, for many years. Thanks again. I wish you the best as you continue to write and share your journey with a part of the world who is willing to listen and learn. It sounds like you have a wonderful partner and a happy life with him. I wish you both well.SimplyMehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13610843422128505804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792904819726809319.post-26511678317442434902009-05-25T12:24:06.607-07:002009-05-25T12:24:06.607-07:00I am so glad that I discovered your blog.
